Scholarships and awards are offered by the school on the basis of achievements of the students as well as on the basis of the stringent financial conditions of the families of students. The scholarships are offered every year to the students of 11^th and 12^th classes, who have obtained the highest marks in their examination of the 10^th class from the Vivekananda School by

(A) Sir Dietrich Brandis Memorial Scholarship, after the name of German British Botanist and forestry academic and administrator who worked with British Imperial Forestry Service in Colonial India for nearly 30 years. He also served in Inspector General of Forests in India. In retirement he dedicated himself to scholarly work resulting in his monumental book Indian Trees. He is considered the father of Tropical forestry and has also been described as Father of Scientific forestry.

(B) Lady Katherina Brandis Memorial Scholarship, after the name of Lady Katherina, W/o Sir Dietrich Brandis who lived in Dehradun from 1869 to 1883 and has left a rich collection of Water Colour painting of the landscape and the Flora ofthe Himalayas including Dehradun. This scholarship is given to the students who secure good marks in class 10^th and take Painting as a subject in class 11^th.

(C) Prof. Henning Brandis Memorial Scholarship, after the name of a well-known German Microbiologist, the founder of Sir Dietrich Brandis Foundation and the grandson of the Father of Forestry, Sir Dietrich Brandis. This scholarship is given to the students who take Science subject.

(D) Dr SK Sharma Memorial Scholarship, after the name of founder of the School. This scholarship is provided to the students who secure good marks in English and History.

(E) Prof Tapas Majumdar Memorial Scholarship for Economics, after the name of professor who worked in JNU University. It is given to students who take Economics as subject.

(F) Shri Puran Chandra Gupta Foundation, after the name of a prominent educationist of Dehradun and the first Principal of the Hindu National Inter College. It is given for Science subject. It is given to two students.

(G) Dr. Paresh Nath Mukherjee Memorial Scholarship, after the name of a prominent scholar and educationist of Dehradun, who taught History at the DAV College and was the Head of the Department for a long time, to a student who takes History as one of the subjects in 11^th and 12^th Classes.

(H) Shri K N Bahuguna Memorial Scholarship, after the name of the teacher who worked in Colonel Brown School and Cambrian Hall School, Dehradun. It is given to student who secures good marks in Hindi Subject.

(I) Late Shri Kashinath Chakraverty Memorial Scholarship, given to the student who pursue commerce stream in class 11 and 12. Mr Chakraverty belonging to Indian Foreign Service got posted in various countries like Switzerland, USA, Nepal, Mexico and Chile. He retired as Consul General ofIndia. West Berlin in year 1984.
